AGNT Inc. Reports Record Second-Quarter Revenue Driven by Surge in Agent Productivity and Strategic Expansion

AGNT Inc., formerly eXp World Holdings, announced a landmark second quarter, surpassing previous revenue benchmarks as its flagship eXp Realty demonstrated sustained growth in agent productivity, transaction volume, and market share. The company’s recent earnings call, following the significant acquisition of NextHome in May, provided a comprehensive overview of its performance and forward-looking strategies. AGNT achieved a remarkable $1.4 billion in revenue for the second quarter, marking an 11% increase compared to the same period in the prior year. This financial success is underpinned by a robust 12% surge in real estate sales transactions, totaling 132,497, and a substantial 15% rise in sales volume, reaching $60.5 billion. The company’s agent and broker count also saw healthy expansion, growing by 6% year-over-year to 87,338 by the end of the quarter.

The consistent growth trajectory, particularly the emphasis on agent productivity, emerged as a central theme during the earnings call. Executives highlighted that this increased output is not merely a reflection of a larger agent base but a testament to agents performing more and performing better, a factor that underscores the critical importance of agent retention. Leo Pareja, CEO of eXp Realty, articulated this point directly during the call, stating, "Record revenue is driven by increased agent productivity. That’s not just agent counting and doing the work. That’s our agents doing more and doing it better, which is exactly why retention of the best agents matters so much." This enhanced productivity translated into a 6% increase per agent compared to the previous year, indicating a more efficient and impactful agent force. Jesse Hill, AGNT’s Chief Financial Officer, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that even incremental improvements in productivity across their expansive agent network can yield significant overall gains for the brokerage. Furthermore, AGNT reported a notable achievement of approximately 3% market share growth in the U.S. residential real estate market during the quarter.

Financially, AGNT demonstrated strong operational leverage, with adjusted EBITDA climbing an impressive 129% to $25.7 million. The company also bolstered its liquidity, increasing cash and cash equivalents to $111.2 million. Despite a modest 2% year-over-year increase in operating expenses to $97.2 million, the company reported a net loss of $2.7 million, a figure that warrants closer examination in the context of strategic investments and the integration of recent acquisitions.

eXp Realty: The Enduring Engine of AGNT’s Growth

Despite the corporate rebranding to AGNT Inc. and the strategic expansion into multiple brokerage models, executives consistently reinforced that eXp Realty remains the core of the company’s operations and value proposition. Glenn Sanford, founder, chairman, and CEO of AGNT, underscored this point, describing eXp Realty as "still the engine" and "the most agent-centric real estate brokers on the planet." He elaborated on the company’s dual-model approach, with eXp Realty continuing its cloud-based brokerage model and NextHome offering a franchise structure. This diversification aims to cater to agents and broker-owners seeking to build and scale their businesses, whether as small teams or larger enterprises, all while keeping the agent at the center of their growth opportunities.

Pareja further elaborated on AGNT’s overarching platform, designed to support a diverse range of real estate professionals without compromising eXp Realty’s fundamental principles. He positioned AGNT as "a global operating system for modern real estate entrepreneur and a multi-model platform where independent agents, franchise owners and team leaders all find a home built for the way they want to grow. Two models, maximum optionality." This strategic vision aims to provide a comprehensive ecosystem that adapts to the varied needs and aspirations of real estate professionals.

NextHome Acquisition: A Strategic Pivot to Broaden Market Reach

The acquisition of NextHome, finalized in May, stands as one of AGNT’s most significant strategic maneuvers for 2026. This move allows the company to extend its reach beyond its established cloud-based brokerage model while maintaining a unified technology infrastructure. Pareja characterized the integration of NextHome as complementary rather than competitive, stating, "eXp Realty remains the undisputed cloud-based leader in our industry. NextHome offers a premier franchise experience. Together, these two brands expand our agent offering and let us serve a wider segment of the market than either brand could reach alone."

The synergy between the two brands is expected to foster a global referral network connecting eXp agents with NextHome franchisees worldwide. Furthermore, AGNT is consolidating back-office, legal, and technology resources to drive operational efficiencies across both brands. This strategic integration is anticipated to enhance service delivery and operational scalability. The company also sees potential for industry consolidation to create further recruiting opportunities. Pareja highlighted the prospect of attracting agents from franchises that may no longer align with their long-term goals, estimating that "about 400,000 agents who find themselves at a franchise over the next couple years they may no longer feel aligned with, and now we have an opportunity to convert entire franchises as those agreements come due." Notably, Hill confirmed that the NextHome acquisition was financed through existing cash reserves, preserving AGNT’s debt-free balance sheet.

Technological Innovation: The Foundation of Operational Excellence and AI Integration

A cornerstone of AGNT’s growth strategy is its unwavering commitment to technological advancement, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI) and proprietary platforms designed to streamline agent businesses and enhance operational efficiency. Pareja emphasized the critical role of AGNT OS, the company’s integrated operating system, in unifying agent workflows. "Everything I just walked through is only possible because the platform we’re building underneath it. AGNT OS brings everything an agent needs to run their business together in one place," he explained. This centralized system aims to eliminate the fragmentation agents often experience with multiple disconnected tools and logins, providing a single, cohesive environment for managing their businesses.

Sanford highlighted AGNT’s cloud-native heritage as a distinct advantage in the evolving landscape where AI is becoming increasingly pivotal to brokerage operations. "We’ve been technology-focused from day one, so AI has been a more natural transition given our infrastructure," Sanford stated. He expressed optimism about the future potential of AI, noting, "We’re just in the early stages of seeing where AI can take us over the next few years." The company is already leveraging AI-powered tools for document review, broker support, transaction management, and agent development, all contributing to improved operating efficiency and a more streamlined experience for its agents.

Outlook and Market Position

Looking ahead, AGNT has provided guidance for the third quarter of 2026, projecting revenue between $1.35 billion and $1.45 billion. The company anticipates operating expenses in the range of $85 million to $90 million and adjusted EBITDA between $17 million and $22 million. For the full fiscal year 2026, AGNT reaffirmed its revenue guidance of $4.85 billion to $5.15 billion, with projected adjusted EBITDA between $50 million and $60 million. Operating expenses for the full year are forecast to be between $355 million and $365 million.

Despite acknowledging ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties within the housing market, AGNT’s leadership remains focused on its core strategic imperatives: enhancing agent productivity, successfully integrating NextHome, expanding its technological platform, and providing agents with expanded avenues for business growth. This multi-faceted approach positions AGNT to navigate market fluctuations and capitalize on emerging opportunities within the dynamic real estate industry. The company’s ability to drive agent efficiency, coupled with its strategic diversification through acquisitions like NextHome, suggests a robust strategy for sustained growth and market leadership. The continued investment in technology, particularly AI, further solidifies its commitment to innovation and operational excellence.
